Christmas Gift Suggestion Guide

According to a recent survey on Christmas gift buying habits carried out by the high street bank, Abbey, British consumers will waste around £1.3 billion on unwanted Christmas presents each year.

Smellies top the list of naff presents (48 per cent), closely followed by novelty themed Christmas gifts (30 per cent) and sweets and chocolates (18 per cent).

Apparently, Britons spend an average of £250 on Christmas presents every year.

Sadly, in a third (38 per cent) of cases the money would have been better spent on gift vouchers. Especially, when three quarters of teenagers admit they would prefer just to get cash.

However, adults disagree, with six in ten saying they feel the money option is a thoughtless cop out.
